Friction in Games and Computational Media

I've co-edited with Pedro Cardoso a special issue of the Journal of Digital Media & Interaction published by the University of Aveiro. This issue is focused on friction in games and computational media, particularly looking at the benefits of designing it into systems. This issue was edited in the scope of the project “Break the Loop: Driving Meaningful Interactions with Inconvenient Design Strategies”, funded by national funds through FCT — Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, with the reference 2023.14448.PEX.
We're extremely happy to have in this issue essays by: Agnese Rosati, Keren Ponzo & Leonardo Silvagni; Brice Roy; Cátia Ferreira; Dejan Grba; Fabrício Fava & Camila Mangueira; Filipe Pais; João Pedro Ribeiro; Jung In Jung, Naman Merchant, Ecem Ince, Haocheng Yang, Navis Binu Mariya Dass & Andrea Szymkowiak; Ricardo Melo, Inês Silva, Joana Couto & Diana Liebetrau; Vincenzo Galatro, Ema Di Petrillo & Alfonso J. López Rivero.
